Working at Heights Refresher Training is a mandatory training program required every three years for workers to renew their certification under Ontario’s safety regulations. This interactive, hands-on course is designed to reinforce critical fall protection skills, refresh your knowledge of safety protocols, and ensure you remain confident and compliant on the job. Taught by experienced instructors with real-world expertise, the course includes practical exercises, up-to-date industry insights, and guidance tailored to the challenges workers face every day. By the end of this refresher, you’ll leave fully equipped to handle tasks while meeting all regulatory requirements.
COURSE CONTENT
Our Working at Heights Refresher Course, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of essential fall protection systems and practical techniques to ensure safety while working in elevated environments. Course content includes:
Travel Restraint Systems: Learn how to effectively use systems that limit movement to prevent reaching dangerous edges or areas.
Fall Restricting Systems: Understand how these systems minimize the distance and severity of a fall when working on ladders or other elevated structures.
Fall Arrest Systems: Gain expertise in deploying fall arrest equipment, including harnesses and lanyards, to stop a fall safely and reduce injury risks.
Safety Nets: Learn the proper setup and use of safety nets to provide secondary protection in high-risk areas.
Work Belts and Safety Belts: Explore the appropriate applications, limitations, and inspection procedures for work and safety belts.
Hazard Awareness and Risk Assessment: Recognize potential fall hazards, assess risks, and implement preventive measures tailored to the job site.
Regulatory Compliance: Understand the safety requirements under Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant standards.
This hands-on training ensures participants are confident, compliant, and well-prepared to work safely at heights, making it a vital course for workers in construction and industrial environments.
Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Participants must wear appropriate clothing, as well as CSA-certified head, foot, and eye protection. We ask that you bring your own personal protective equipment (PPE) and that it is maintained and in good working order per the manufacturer’s specifications and regulatory requirements.
